Background:
Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Alameda's homeless pets and finding them loving homes. As part of their ongoing efforts to promote pet adoption and community engagement, FAAS launches a series of month-specific digital flyers for their website. I was tasked with creating the flyers for the month of March.
Objective: The primary goal of this project was to create engaging and informative digital flyers that highlight the animals of the month available for adoption at FAAS. Each flyer features one dog, one cat, and one bunny. These flyers were designed to coincide with popular themes and events of the month of March, such as March Madness and St. Patrick's Day.
Process:
The assignment was straightforward. The Development Manager of FAAS had already designed flyers for January and February and wanted me to maintain a similar look and feel. The main tasks involved selecting the featured animals of the month and using Photoshop to skillfully remove their backgrounds. Additionally, I designed the eye-catching icons displayed at the top of the flyers, carefully choosing engaging fonts and a color scheme that adhered to color theory principles to ensure attention-grabbing visuals. Lastly, I focused on arranging the layout to ensure a smooth flow of information throughout the flyers.
